Nonprofit Spotlight: YMCA of Metro Denver

Since 1987, the YMCA of Metro Denver has been devoted to the health and well-being of all individuals. Their programs are throughout Denver in wellness centers, nonprofit partners, and community-serving agencies. Even though the YMCA of Metro Denver is one of 2,700 YMCA organization nationwide, they bring 72,000 people together each year.

For more than 145 years, the YMCA of Metro Denver has been committed to helping our community be a better place for all people. They not only provide great programs for community health, but they work towards meeting great community needs including quality childcare, assisting refugees, making waves with sportsmanship standards, and responding to support numerous emergency situations from the COVID-19 crisis.

YMCA of Metro Denver measures their impact. In 2021 alone, 5,443 children participated in their child development programs, 7,965 young athletes competed in their youth sports programs, 2,603 lives were saved through blood donations partnership with Vitalant in their wellness centers, and $316,173 in scholarships were granted to youth and families to participate in their programs.
