Nonprofit Spotlight: Colorado Ballet

At Innovest, we are committed to advancing the missions of our clients.  This quarter, we are honored to highlight an integral piece of Colorado’s cultural fabric: the Colorado Ballet.

Founded in 1961 by Lillian Covillo and Freidann Parker, the Colorado Ballet is committed to their mission of increasing access to classical ballet and contemporary dance through extraordinary artistic quality in their performances, training, education, and community engagement.

The Colorado Ballet makes their vision of increasing access to the transcendent power of dance a reality through their community engagement and simple motto, “Every Body Dance.”  They tailor programs to all skill levels, including the From the Page to the Stage school assembly program, the Be Beautiful Be Yourself classes for students with Down syndrome, and the Raydean Acevedo Colorado Ballet Academy, which offers classes for children, professionals, and adults.

The Colorado Ballet showcases five performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House each season. As their season continues, the Colorado Ballet will perform the beloved Nutcracker from November 30th to December 29th, a tradition they have upheld every holiday season since their founding. Kenneth Tindall’s new ballet, Casanova, will premiere January 31st and continue through February 9th.
