Conflicts of interest run rampant on Wall Street, making it difficult to serve and put the interest of clients first. We will never forget the day in 1996 when the president of our Wall Street firm called to reprimand us for terminating a client’s underperforming investment manager, one which happened to be the firm’s trading partner. The direct admonishment suggested that our obligation to our client was secondary to the interests and commission that the manager was paying our firm.

That inherent divided loyalty became the catalyst for us to seek a better way, so we founded Innovest that same year on a bedrock mission of stewardship. We began with a goal to eliminate the commission-based sales culture that still exists on Wall Street today. Our mantra became Building Relationships That Produce Results. Conflicted interests don’t allow solid relationships to be forged, and underwhelming results are widespread. Trust cannot be built in self-serving behavior. We are different. Our relationships are different. Our results are different.

Innovest is an innovator and trailblazer in serving our families from our offices in Colorado, Arizona, and California. We deliver a rigorous, disciplined investment process that leads to investor success. This process was recently evident in early 2020, when the COVID virus dramatically impacted economic and market conditions. We harvested losses and rebalanced client portfolios in response. We make no claim to an ability to predict the markets, but our disciplined approach to range-based rebalancing led to enhanced returns for our clients.
